Am Vortag war ich schon alleine in China Town unterwegs. Mit Jacquelyn wollte ich unbedingt dort shooten. Es wirkt wie eine andere Stadt in einem anderen Land. Nur die Straßenschilder verraten, dass man noch an der nordamerikanischen Westküste ist. Die vorbeifahrenden Autos stören mich schon gar nicht mehr. Ich mache kurz Platz, um direkt danach wieder auf die Straße zu treten. Manchmal müssen die FahrerInnen auch kurz warten. Aber alle sind geduldig und Jacquelyn und ich sind ganz entspannt.

Nachdem wir fertig sind, packen wir unsere Sachen und gehen in einem Straßencafé noch ein Bier trinken. Dann geht ein schöner, langer Tag voller Eindrücke zu Ende. Ich setze mich in die BART und fahre zurück nach Oakland. Meine letzten drei Tage in den USA sind angebrochen…

On the day before the shooting I’ve already been strolling around China Town. Shooting there with Jacquelyn was a must. It just seems like a whole different city in a foreign country. Only the street signs give it away: you’re still on the north american west coast. The cars which are passing by don’t bother me anymore at all. I simply step aside, let them pass, just to step on the street again for taking another shot. Sometimes I let the drivers wait. But they’re all patient and Jacquelyn and I are very relaxed.

After we’re done, we pack our stuff and get a drink in a street café. Then a wonderful long day packed with new impressions comes to an end. I take the BART back to Oakland. I’m only three days from leaving the USA again…
